Sorry I was wrong about cavity #4. #6 is the Anti-lock brake module, Stop lamp, and buzzers fuse. You may can check that. I have my owners manual out lookin at it. You may can check it also. Sorry bout the false info man. It is a red 10 amp.

That would be nice if that was it. What kind of manual do you have? Is it for a 1990? Mine says the #10 is for the anti lock system. I'll check it out
anyway. Thanks!

I just checked the diagram again and it looks like #13 says something about anti lock and a bunch of other things, one of which is the low windshield washer lamp. My washer lamp seems to be stuck on too. Maybe there is something there. Hopefully I'll have time to get at all this tomorrow.

yes it is my factory 1990 dodge dakota owners manual. #11 in my manual just says windshield washers and wipers. It says nothing about brakes. #6 is abs module, stop lamp, and buzzers, and #10 is turn signals and rear wheel anti lock module. Those are the only 2 in there that say anything about abs or brakes.

Wow, that's really different than mine. Is there a difference between 2wd and 4wd in the abs configuration? Mine only has the rear wheel anti lock and is 2wd.

It's raining today so I don't know how much Ill do but I'll check those fuses. Thanks!

I dont know if there is a difference in 2 or 4wd abs config. I wouldnt think so but you never know what the car builders will do different when they build em.

Fuses seem to be ok. I guess the next step will be to check out the sensor on the differential case.

I still can't figure out why I don't get any error codes, the lights just stay on with no blinking. Anybody else ever seen that?

Another question I have is, can the RWAL system be bypassed altogether? Seems it would be simple to do this as there is no modulation on the master cylinder. What would happen? Would it cause another computer control probem if the RWAL was disconnected?

If your not getting codes, my guess is the ABS computer is not getting power or ground. Pull the ABS computer and test out the wires going in. See if you have the correct power. The wiring diagrams are in the FAQ in this section.

I'm seriously considering just running brake line straight to the rear union bypassing all abs controls. The one concern I have is whether or not there would a safety shut off if either the front or back lines develop a leak? That could be bad. Seems it would need some kind of pressure differential apparatus. Is that right?

Found the problem. I was expecting the problem to be electronic because the abs light was on but it looks like it was a leaking cylinder. Finally decided to pull the wheels and have a look and voila, the brakes were completely soaked with brake fluid on one side. Looks like that dangdakota will ride again, eeehawww!
