Default master cylinder question

Well I've been gone for a bit but I'm back, now I had oil in my brake fluid so I had to replace anything with rubber in the brake system. Now when my mechanic changed out the master, the first new one was no good, there was nothing at the front brakes. The second one worked for a couple days but then I changed the calipers and the second master went. The third one the brakes would stick. Have any of you guys encountered this with the master on these things? We ended up grabbing the best looking junkyard master and once that one got re-worked in, its worked better than any of those new ones combined...

Were you bleeding the brakes completely? Did you bench bleed the brakes? I tend to replace mine every 2-3yrs.

I bench bled all the masters before they went in. They all turned out defective. What brand do you use?

Did you bleed the brakes too? All 4 wheels, starting from the furthest and work to the closest?

After a few years of Autozone junk I stepped up to Napa. We will see if it lasts better.

No you don't need the engine to be running. But it does help with the power assist.

I actually find its easier to bleed the brakes with the engine off. But its all in what u prefer. And yea I did bleed all four brakes starting from furthest to closest. Its weird. But like I said, that junkyard master works, it was just a pain in the *** to deal with and I was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this with their dakotas
