Default Hello All and I have a question: 92 318 goes lean on acceleration

Hell I am new to the board. I live in Kentucky and drive a 92 ext. cab 4x4 with the 318 magnum. about the only mods done to the truck are a 9k lb. warn and a K&N drop in filter.

I have raced fuel injected turbo cars for several years, but I have come accros a issue on my Dodge that I cannot seem to figure out. while accelerating right around the 2k rpm mark it has a notable loss in power. as soon as it hits 2,300 or so the power instantly come back on (butt dyno says 15-20hp gain). I have replaced all maintenance items, filter, plugs wires, cap rotor etc.. to no change. I have also reset the distributor placement using the instructions online still the exact same.

Today I hooked my voltmeter into the o2 sensor to check out the voltages. right when it looses power it also goes quite lean (.2 volts area) then as soon as power comes back it jumps right back to where it should be although very rich for my liking. this little test was ran with nearly static TPS aka I pressed the accelerator steady throughout.

the problem is to RPM dependant for me to believe it is a map sensor problem. anyone have any ideas, or heard of this before? I searched but saw nothing close

Welcome to DodgeForum!!

Have you ran a sweep test of the TPS? IIRC, it get a 5 volt input and should output a steady sweep from ~.75 volts at idle to ~4 volts at WOT.

How did you mount it up? Lets see some pics!

I installed a Smittybilt 10,000lbs Winch. I custom made a front hitch. And used a winch reciver to mount it on. So I can take it out back if needed.

The truck was originally my dads he found a brush guard for the truck then modified it using a winch mount he had for a older Toyota 4x4. It is supposed to have headlight hoops but I broke one off on a tree. It has been on the truck for about 12 years I am planning to take a day remove it all get it sandblasted and repainted to fix the rust and probably rebuild part of the winch. The winch is probably 30 years old it still works very well but I think the motor is showing its age.

the color distortion on parts is mainly due to it is pitch black outside I just snapped a pic with the flash.

and about the TPS I think that COULD be my problem, I am going to test it tomorrow.
