Help with TBI rebuild
Hi guys. I'm gonna rebuild the throttle body on my '89 Dakota 2.5 4 cyl. Basically just replace gaskets and O rings. But I'm stumped by a couple of holes on the upper part of the throttle body. The yellow arrow on the pic show where there are two holes, one on top of the other. Now the bottom one is sealed. I mean not clogged but evidently sealed at the factory. But the upper hole is not sealed. I used a Q-tip to dig around in there a little and it looked like ear wax that came out. With the fuel pressure regulator off it looks like this hole is one end of the hole where fuel comes from the regulator. I hope this makes sense to someone. Anyway, my question is, should this upper hole be open and cleaned out or was it supposed to be sealed like the lower hole, maybe for some application other than a Dakota. Any help will be appreciated. I just don't want to screw up something else. Thanks. Scott.
