Default Anyone here do their own AC work?

Just curious. I would like to learn how and I have recharged my truck before with R-134 but never checked it for leaks myself or evacuated it and recharge it.

I did when I put the new motor in.

I have an old hospital vacume pump that was used during surgery. I hook it up to evacuate it and it takes about 30-45 minutes. Then use R-134 in the can with the hose on it and its done.

Ya it very easy to do. Finding a leak is the hard part, but if you use the UV detector kit it is simple.

You can buy simple gauges and simple vacuum pumps. Then just do the cans on the low side.

That's fine for you guys, but refill cans of r134A(anything under a 5 lb canister) are illegal here in WI...
