Default Great articles!

This weekend I cleaned up all my old magazines. Most of the articles I was able to find online. Here are TONS related to our trucks! Tons more if you search. Go to any of these magazine sites and search by Source Interlink Media.

I posted these in the FAQ2. Read up!

In the sporttruck.com article it mentions using a 180 tstat. I was under the impression that the computer would run rich to get the engine up to a higher temperature, which would result in more horsepower but a loss in fuel mileage. The article says that you would see power and mileage. Any clue if that is the case? I know when I had a stuck open tstat I saw terrible gas mileage, but the temp gauge never budged off C.

Well it may slightly richen up the air fuel mixture, but most of its slight power increase will come from the timing. It will advance the timing and raise the idle, that is where the most of the power increase they are talking about. And it is not much!

If the thermostat was lower then 180 it will richen it up a lot more to get it warmer. But 180 is the cut off point.

As for better MPG's I can't really think of any legitimate reason why you would get better. But my guess is it will relatively stay the same.
