You could always mount a aftermarket tach somewhere, something like mine where it's a 5" mounted where the ashtray is suppose to be. It's hardly noticeable, easy to wire and works like a champ for the same price you would pay for a new cluster. I wired up everything in my truck and everything looks like it belongs there.

i have a 91 4cyl manual... well long story short my speed gauge doesnt work so i want to put a tach in it. ya i know that a new speed cable would be easyer but i just like the tach... well my 4cyl has a magneto not a coil... well i spliced into the neg side pin g on red plug and all i get is a lot of random movement on the gauge... is there a different way to hook it up or should i give up
