Default How many sq ft of Dynamat to cover cab and doors?

Hi all,

I did a search of the forum to see if someone had already posted an answer, but no luck. I'm wanting to add sound-deadener (is that a word?) insulation, such as Dynamat, to my 95 regular cab. I figured I'd take the bench seat out, remove the factory vinyl carpet and matting, and remove the door cover so I could install Dynamat throughout. I've seen sites online selling the bulk Dynamat packages, but I realized I couldn't order any until I knew the appropriate square footage of the areas I want to cover.

Do any of you know off-hand how many square feet I'd need? I am at work and without access to a means of measuring the inside of my cab. If someone has already done this to their cab, then hopefully the number of square feet to buy is already known.

Also, if anyone has done this, did it make a noticable difference for you? I just would like a little verification that the money and effort are worth the trouble... I would like to quiet the cab enough that I don't have to blare the radio to compensate for road noise at highway speed. Plus, then my gf might not complain about her ears ringing after riding in the truck for more than 20 minutes...

Thanks for any help on this!
K

The most typical place for noise is the door and window weather striping.
