Default oil pan removal

OK can anybody tell me exactly what the steps are to remove the oil pan on my 93 Dakota 4x4? Its seems everywhere I look everybody has a different way of doing it. And the Hayes manual says to remove the drive axle and from looking at it under the truck I don't see how removing the drive axle will help at all. I am just looking for the simplest way of doing this. Even though I know its gonna be a little labor intense.

When I removed my oil pan, I had to remove the front drive axle and steering center link to make room to drop the pan.

But its really not hard to remove the front drive axle! Just unbolt the 2 6 bolt cv flanges, unbolt the driveshaft from the axle yoke and remove the 8 (I think) housing mounting bolts. If you have air it should take 15 minutes at most to drop that housing. But its worth the time to save yourself a headache.
