Default a few questions.

first off, is there anyway to adjust the gas pedal cable and the cruise control cable going to the throttle body?

is it me, or are the motors in our trucks offset to the right a bit?

and for some weird reason or another, my truck seems to have a loss of power to the pedal, backfires between gears, and almost stalls out when the rpms drop(i.e. when coming out of gear)

sorry for the multiple questions but its been a long while since i started a thread.

its been nice to get back behind the wheel of my truck again finally.lol

No official way to adjust the cables. You can bend the bracket back to tighten it up or forward to loosen it.

You said no power to the pedal. What exactly do you mean?

As for the rest it may be a vacuum leak. Bad EGR. Bad plug wires, wrong locations bad timing type of issues.

1 - What Crazy said... unless you can think of a way to shorten the cable.

2 - Yes, the entire drivetrain is offset to the right. On the 4x4, its to clear the front wheel drivetrain, I don't know why on the 2wd... could be a weight distribution thing.

3 - These engines do a whole lot of "popping" while deaccelerating... don't know if this is what you mean by backfiring or not. What I'm talking about isn't a backfire, just a noise it makes. I explained why a long time ago, but I don't feel like getting into that again. As for the almost stalling, how new is your IAC? Mine did the same thing after the swap... went through 3 IACs (warrentied them out) and reset the computer countless times before it finally figured out how to work.

Ya your right on OUR 4wd. So on older trucks with the pumpkin on the passenger side is it shifted over the other way? Or just in the center mostly due to how much room most older trucks had they didn't need to shift anything?

For 2wd the offset is usually to clear the steering shaft, brake booster.

ok...it just seems really loose

it lags, takes a while for everything to kick in. 95 might be a little familiar with this. it bogs down when letting the clutch out like its not getting enough gas.

i checked all the vacuum lines and had replaced them a while ago along with cleaning the egr valve(since it was clogged) and the plugs, wire, cap, and rotor are about a month old.

its that and add a couple of miss fire pops to it and thats what it is. but if i put the clutch in it only makes a few of the deceleration pops but it still backfires.

crap i forgot about that! lol i had just changed the dash temp sensor because it felt like my truck was getting hotter than normal and the gauge would just sit at 1/4 on the dash.

Nope. Sometimes I don't even have to give it any gas to let the clutch out... if I'm accelerating really slow like moving 2 feet forward in stop and go traffic. These engines have so much freakin torque that it always engages hard without any bogging.

if you put it in 5th and let it go without gas. last time i had a problem with a manual vehicle bogging down on the gas or between gears it was my old daytona which had a timing issue.

another question for ya'll...
has anybody purchased a double roller timing chain from summit?
if so , which one would you recommend?

they are all cheaper than anything in town by 50$ and i don't want to order anything has bad rep(if you know what i mean)...
