If it has an in tank pump that is the only one that should be there, unless it is in fact carb'd .

If it's throttle body injection it'll look similar to this with the 2 large injectors on top

Tks for the replies! Ok so here's where I am with
The dakota! The intank pump had the power wire cut,
The carter fuel pump on the rail was not working,
So I removed it and installed a fuel hose and clamps.
So the only pump left was the smaller carter
Inline pump under the hood. The truck was running great, drove my
Misses to work yesterday things seem great, untill
Driving home, stalled, pulled it over, started and
Then started acting like I was out of fuel! Pulled
Over to side road, pulled it over and wouldn't start!
Sat for about 35 mins, pulled it over and it started
Right up! I guess the first thing I need to know
Is what engine I have???? I have posted some pics
Online for you pros to guide me on what's going on!
If this truck is carbed then I should have a mechcanical
Fuel pump! Can't seem to find where it would mount!
Looked below the alt but couldn't see anything!
Here's the addy where I just posted the pics

Tks again for the input!

Yea for sure carbed, the electric pump on the engine is fine it'll only need a few PSI to operate and will serve the same purpose as the mechanical pump. Leave the in tank pump disconnected or you'll flood out and likely damage the carb with too much pressure.
