LOL! I'm sorry but those are soo weak. Might as well use a broom handle!

You can find cheep pipes/excess metal at most welding shops. They will sell it to you dirt cheep. If you still can't afford it, make a deal with them to do a a few hours of work/cleaning up or even a weekend worth of work/cleaning up the shop or small jobs to work off what you need.

Or even try www.craigslist.org some people sell it cheep, or trade, or for free. Tons of free websites out there too!

have to try that. but I got another question (like always) when you took you valance off, the 2 thick metal peices bolted to the frame underneath, what are those for because one of mine is bent and I was going to bend it back with a hammer? and would that be stong enough to mount stuff on i.e brushguard, etc

My guess of what you are talking about is the lower end of the bumper bracket. It by it self is not strong enough. The brackets are made to crush in an accident to save the frame from damage if necessary. But if you bolt something to where the brackets meet the frame that will be strong enough.

You woun't have a bumper if you take it off. You can cut the lower half of it off. That is what I did.

Yes that is why it is called a bumper bracket!

Edit:

If this is the part you are talking about. See the red arrow. Yours of coarse will not have the tow hooks.
