Default 15 Gallon or 22 Gallon?

Hi all,

This may seem like a silly question but is there any way to find out if my truck has a 15 or 22 gal tank other than filling it? I'm looking for a fuel pump replacement and autozone has 2 listed; one for a 15 gallon and one for a 22 gallon tank. I need to figure out which one i should buy.

I've read other posts that indicate i should probably go thru napa for a part like a fuel pump so i will be contacting them, however i still would like to know what to look for.

Thanks!

Thanks Auron,

Do you know if this would be on the top/bottom/left/right of the tank?

Thanks!

Yes there is a stamp somewhere on it. I would guess on the top, but I don't know for sure.

It has been said but not 100% confirmed true that the 22 gallon tank has a L shaped front end. (Mine does) And the 15 gallon tank is just rectangular shape.

Or you can request your build sheet that will tell you all the options your truck came with. Check the FAQ for a link.

Hey Crazy,

where in the FAQ can I find out about requesting a build sheet? I found the VIN decoder and used that in hopes it would tell me but it did not. However, the VIN decoder is really cool and I found out a good bit, like that my truck was built about 2 hours away from me :-D

Anyway, I'd like to have a build sheet for the truck just because i feel like it would be really good info to have around.

Do you know how big this "wagon wheel" shape is on the tank by chance? I did notice the tank itself goes under the cab of the truck a few inches.

Anyway thanks for the info!

Sorry I forgot to post in there. http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/univers...ull&category=U

Write up Build sheet request. Write in your VIN number.

Submitted the info for the build sheet. I want to see what info it has on it. Should be way cool.

I think this might have the 22 gallon tank. what i think is strange is the pump for the 15 gallon tank is more expensive than the pump for the 22 gallon. Oh well, I will figure it out soon enough i'm sure.

Once i get the pump and get into the R and R of it, I will start a new post. I may need some advice/help in doing that.

Thanks!

Default Got it

Alright,

I got the build sheet for my truck. This is pretty neat it helps me answer the questions about the rear end and a lot of other little things i was wondering. Also, the truck has the 22 gallon tank. :-D

I recommend everyone gets the build sheet if they dont have it. only takes a few minutes and it's a lot of neat info.

thanks for the link!

You could just pay attention when you fill up

Fill up at an 1/8 of a tank. If it takes more than 15 gallons, you have a 22 gallon tank.

Lol. Thanks for the idea. I would have done that if the truck was drivable and the fuel pump was functional. I don't wanna filler up if I'm about to work on the fuel pump.
The trucks so new to me I havnt had a chance to fill it yet

Thanks!
