Default 92 5.2 Will Not Idle

Hi everyone, needs suggestions. My 92 5.2 4x4 will not idle. Start it up it stalls. A mechanic I know said take it for a ride, it may have to learn how to idle again, it had been sitting a few weeks. Put about 15 miles on it and started to idle, until I got close to home will not idle again. Replaced crank position sensor last year for basically the same problem. Any thoughts appreciated.

Probably a frozen up IAC (idle air controller or idle air control valve). This is located at the back of the throttle body. They are notorious for freezing up. Replace it, reset the computer, and drive it for about 15 to 20 minutes and see if your problem goes away.

Just to comment on you replacing the crankshaft position sensor... if the engine runs at all, no matter how poorly, that sensor is fine.
