Default A/C problems. And its 100 degrees

My a/c went out in my 96 Dakota 5.2l the other day. I stop at a red light and my a/c quits blowing completely. I start to take off and at about 40 mph it starts blowing cold air. The controls inside wont do anything to speed up slow down the a/c at 40 mph or more. So today I popped my hood turned the truck on and a/c still no air at all but the compressor is running. Anybody have this problem. I need some help. Its 100 degrees down here in florida.

Sounds like it is a blower/vent problem. Start with the blower, see if its running, check fuses, check resistor, then move to the vents and see if they are working. If it is the blower you shouldn't get fresh air or heat and show the same symptoms as the AC.
