Default 1991 Dodge Dakota Catches Fire

Hello everyone i own a 1991 dodge dakota V8 5.2 with 87k on it recently it had stalled on me 3 times and it was a pain in the @ss to started again almost as if it was flooding eventually it would start and run just fine again so i decide to give it a tune up i replaced spark plugs wires dis. cap and rotor i also filled the tank and added some fuel injector cleaner so the other day we dove it over a mountain we put about 25 miles on it with all the new stuff and on the way back we found this dirt road that would take us back so it was very bumping well on the way down the truck stalled all of the lights on the cluster turned on and turned of and then smoke poured out from under the hood tuened out that the negitive battery wire that bolts just above the wheel well burned itslef in half and all of the instulation burned off so there must have been one hell of a short also the brake lines were glowing red hot where they bend to run underneath the firewall the battery was making all kinds of funny sounds and was smoking so we disconected that and after it was all over i notice the tempature guage was turned all the way around past the H it was pointing at the floor now when the battery cable is hooked back up it throws sparks but nothing works except for the solenoide mounted on the throttle body so if anybody as an idea of were to look or what might have cause this please let me know thanks

Nice! You got one mess. Yes sounds like it was shorting out on the brake line. You probably killed tons of wires. All the wires will need to be inspected and replace/repair the bad wires. Best thing to do is pull out the harness all together and go at it slowly and carefully.
