Default Anyone here rebuild their own heads before?

I am thinking about undertaking my own head rebuild, minus the machine work which I will sub out. Anyone done this before? Any opinions?

I've had my heads glass beaded before, but good luck on the rest.

really all you can do is disassemble and reassemble. the machine shop i deal with include that in the price to redo a head and they dont lower it if i do the work. so for me there is no point.

I just sent mine out to get valve seals replaced and get the valves ect inspected. Since they were there I had the heads milled down .030 to improve the ratio. They even test the valves for leaks. Unless you want to replace all the valves, springs ect, I think sending it to the machine shop is best. I had a burnt one, it wasn't fully sealing. IIRC it was about $90 each, plus the one valve and seals.
