Default Help with Transmission

I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota Sport Pickup.

I ended up putting the wrong type of transmission fluid in and it stopped
shifting gears and eventually stopped going into reverse.

My Dad helped me change the fluid and the truck started to shift again and reverse kind of started to come back.

A few weeks later it did not want to shift again ....

Can someone give me any advice on what to do now?

Thanks ~

Most likely you didn't change out all the fluid. The torque converter holds 5 to 7 something like that. Doing a simple oil change doesn't change out this fluid. Some shops have a recirculate system that can change out 99% of the fluid. That is your best bet.

If that doesn't work you may have damaged something due to something not fully engaging from the wrong fluid.
