My 94 Dakota has a Stainless steel muffler, probably original, that has a 2 inch crack along a seam. Is it worthwhile to weld it and can it be done?

anything can be welded if you own a welder give it a shot i did it to mine until i bought a flow master just don't put it to high or it burns through easy

 

My guess is it is not stock. Yes it can be welded. If done properly it will last. I would say just replace it. You can get a Flowmaster which is better then stock installed for under $100. To have a a shop weld it will cost $50 or so. Your better buying new. who knows the old one may form more cracks over time.
