Exclamation Help replacing intake manifold gasket please!

Hello all. I will be replacing my intake manifold gasket for my 5.2L V8 1995 Dodge Dakota. Does anyone know of a good website with step by step instructions and/or pictures for replacing this? I have never worked on this engine before. Thank you for your help!

Rob

It'll probably be easier to get the Haynes manual from your local Auto store. They have step by steps and pictures.

While your intake manifold is off (if you have the time), send it to a local machine shop and have them clean it with glass beads and an acid bath.

There is a link to the Factory Service Manual in the FAQ it will give you all the info you need. I've done it on 2 trucks it's not hard just time consuming and make sure you've got an inch-pound torque wrench available.

Hmm. I clicked on the FAQ link, and I did not see any links in the FAQ section for anything mentioning service manual... where exactly is it?

Look a few posts above this one. There is a green arrow pointing at it.

Yeah it equates to about 12 foot pounds on the bolts. That's not much but DON'T go over. Just clean it VERY well before you re-assemble. Put a little dab of engine RTV in the corners. Get a buddy to help you drop it back on, it helps alot if you have short legs like me and you have to climb up on it and hover over the engine.
