improve handling without a drop?
Is it possible? I know it will never handle like a car, but I would like to know if handling can be improved, even on a big old truck. However, I have no desire to lower it. What are my other options, if any?
Eventually when I invest in some nice rims I intend to get General Grabber UHP tires. Which will help. They are one of only two truck tires with a directional tread pattern, and the Generals are half the price of the Goodyears.

Well you can get polyurethane bushing for the sway bar. You can get a thicker sway bar, some Dakotas have thicker ones than others. You can get a rear sway bar. You can get better tires. You can get better shocks. Tons of things you can do. It all depends on your definition of Good Handling is. Good braking goes along with good handling too. And don't forget to make sure your ball joints and tie rods are all nice and tight.

that only works on 4x4's unfortunately
what i did was have my dad's friend put new ball joints on and inner and outer tie rod ends, along with a new sway bar, bushings, ect...the front suspension is now less than 3yrs old on my truck and with new tires the steering is tighter than my 05' civic.
although i do not suggest it, i can take my truck through a round-a-bout at 40mph(only because its on a freeway, stupid place for it). with a cap i couldn't but i feel safe enough in my truck to do it(can't say the same for the passengers lol)
