Default Compression test with motor on a stand?

So, the factory service manual says to rotate the engine 3 times with the starter motor and read the compression on the third revolution. Can I turn the engine by hand and get the same results?

i wonder if the results would be comparable to doing this at cranking speed,
Even at cranking motor speed, the rotating assy would throw a little oil on the cyl walls which helps with ring seal.
You could squirt some oil in the plug holes to help with ring seal and try it.
you will build a sweat doing that way for 6 or 8 holes

Not worried about oil, i will do a wet and dry test. I am worried about the speed that I spin the motor at. Not sure how good the result would be using an impact or bar.

Leak down test is out because I read the motor needs to be at operating temperature.
