Over drive question????

I just bought a 1993 Dodge Dakota 4x4 and I have only one problem.... the push botton overdrive. overdrive turns off by itself. could it need a new button? any answers to this would be greatly appreciated

The button is to turn OFF OD. It is if you are towing heavy loads you don't want to use OD.

OD is normally controlled by the computer. It will shift into OD when needed automatically.

It did it at 55 mph with no load...... the buttn seems worn out because it doesnt always shut off first push sometimes it takes several to get the light off. thanks again
