Question Questions about Overdrive

ref; 1998 Dodge Shelby Dakota

I'm trying to run down an issue with my overdrive; the issue is it isn't working. The trans will shift 1st through 3rd just fine. The light on the overdrive switch will turn on and off. I have checked all of the mechanical connections and adjustments and cleaned electrical connections. Here's a couple of questions;

1) With the key on I am getting 12v+ on pins 2 & 3 of the connector at the trans. It looks like pin #3 is for the "Lock up" solenoid? What is pin 2 for? It's not clear in the wiring diagram.
2) Should I be getting 12v on pin #1 (overdrive solenoid) with the engine running in park as long as the OD light is not lit (button not depressed)?

Are you sure it is a 98 Shelby Dakota, and not a 89? If it is a 89
Look in the FAQ in this section. We have the wiring diagrams.

If it is a 98 (Which I don't believe there was a Shelby)
Look in the FAQ in the 2nd Gen. section. We have the wiring diagrams. I can move this post there if it is.

If I remember correctly...the center pin is the ground...the outer two are neutral safety switch ( starting ) and back up lights.
I could be wrong
