the problem with having low rpm has not been figured out, i checked for vacuum leaks and didnt find any. The problem happens when i hit 45 mph the rpm drop to under 1000, but when i turn the overdrive off it is fine and when i hit 65 its over 3000, i have no clue and stumped

 

sounds like a transmision issue.. moving in and out of overdrive

It's doing what OD is supposed to do, but at 1K rpms at 45 it is running low. I'd try a tranny fluid/filter change. I have the same truck, year/engine/4X4/etc. and mine kicks into OD at about 45 mph then settles in at about 1300 RPMs. That's sometimes annoying in town driving, but it's what it is supposed to do. If OD is too doggy for your style of driving, turn the OD off with the switch on the dash.

 

I have been driving with the overdrive off. Before the rpm was around 2100 at 45mph, and at 65 it was around 2600 and it hasnt been able to get to that with the overdrive on. i had changed the tranny fluid and filter about 11000 miles ago
