Default 87 4WD Problem

What activates my front hubs to lock? They don't in any 4WD mode. I believe it is my auto locking hubs not engaging. The truck has 180,000KM, 3 speed auto, carb, have owned it since 2003, never had a problem with the 4WD, which I use infrequently. I only put less than 10,000KM a year on it.

I don't have a manual which shows me the details of how this system works. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Don

There are no locking hubs. It uses a CAD. Central Axle Disconnect, which is vacuum operated. It could be a vacuum leak or a bad CAD actuator. Check out this site. http://www.walt-n-ingrid.com/modifications.html#4x4

It is also in the FAQ.

Perfect link, thanks very much. I missed it in FAQ's.
