np 231 compatiblity

Default np 231 compatiblity

ok i have a chance to buy a np231 transfer case cheap but its out of a 94 s10 blazer so i need to know if its compatible to the dakota?
p.s. the search for np 231 on this told me it was to common or not found WTF?

No it will not work.

If you look at the part numbers, it will say on your Dakota has a NP231D, D = Dodge. The Blazer will be NP231C, C = Chevy. You can only use one from a Dodge truck, Ram or Dakota. IIRC the 94-up used a different output shaft spline count. You would have to swap your output shaft or get a new yoke to match.

thanks crazy i think local junkland mite have a late 90s ram
