Question 91 Dakota Starter Relay?

I’ve got a ’91 Dakota, 5.2L with a starter problem… Truck just wouldn’t start one day, not a sound from the starter. Took the starter out, tested it, and then took it to the parts store to test, no problems with the starter… So it’s got to be a relay right?

I can only seem to find the starter relay in the black covered, fuse box located under the hood on the driver’s side. (pictured)

Is there another starter relay located somewhere else? And where would it be?
The Haynes Repair Manual is incredibly vague in this!
Thanks for any help.

** Would a bad Ignition Switch have anything to do with the starter not getting power, and what are the signs of it being bad?

There is only going to be one relay. Check to see if the relay working, see if you have power into the relay and out of the relay. Check the fuses, check the fuse to see if it has power.

This question/issue has been asked and answered many times in this blog.
-read some of the old postings...there are many
-swap your relays around ( yes, they are the same) and try starting it
-unplug the wiring harness down to your starter( to the right side and under your battery...2 wires...one big one) Jumper it to your positive post on the battery...the starter will turn over...its a splice/relay thats faulty if it does)
-open up your wiring harness...check the factory splices
Good luck...
