Exclamation 93 5.2/auto dak crank/ no spark

ok so i saw that there are other posts on here that are similar but not quite as unique. i have a 93 5.2/auto dak and i was driving it yesterday and it ran fine. no intermittent issue or anything. drove to class last night and shut it off, came out later and i have no spark and my power windows arent working. i found it rather strange but thats what ive got. all my connections are connected tightly and seem to be quite clean, i cannot see any grounds that are broken or disconnected and i have no blown fuses. i am getting fuel and it is cranking fast as usual. could this be a ground issue? thats what im currently thinking. i checked the batt power connector to the auto shutdown/fuel pump relays and it is clean and tight. crank sensor connector is clean/ tight. what makes me think its a ground issue is that the pwr windows arent working either. is there a shared ground atall between these 2 circuits? any help would be greatly appreciated as i need to get it fixed as this is my only vehicle.

Lots of possibilities. Yes it could be a bad ground. But I doubt they have the same ground. The Notorious splice may be involved. Check to see if you have power coming out of the ASD relay. Check the FAQ for info on it.

i checked that faq n read about the notorious splice and it seems as it has been previously cleaned up and it is clean now. its just very strange that it ran fine w/ no intermittent issues or anything and then it got shut off for 2 hours and it then had no spark and the windows arent working

Sounds to me like your crank sensor is going out. My did that in intermittently spurts I broke down leaving my house. Later on worked fine, then took to AAA to renew my tags and I broke down in front of the AAA office. I replaced the crank sensor never had the issue again.

However all the tow truck guys know me and my dak as the one that broke down at AAA lol

just to clarify, were the windows working just prior to when you shut the truck off?

The PCM needs both cam and crank signal. you have checked the cam position sensor and connector harness?
Do you have spark at the coil?
Can you trigger the coil to verify it generates a spark?
Check the distributor cap and rotor. (we had a problem where the metal tip broke off the rotor once = no spark at plugs)

ok. so the truck is running now. it was just the coil. but the windows still arent working. and yes gladiator the windows did work prior to the truck being shut off. and they still dont work. im geussing its a ground issue. i hope anyways
