found a computer at advance auto parts and it does not require flashing
is this correct or a waste of money

it claims to be "Calibration Pre-Flashed at Factory" but doesn't need vin or miles

When my computer conked out, I just ripped one out of a Dakota at the junkyard, plugged it in and we were good to go. There was a brief period of about 5 miles when the truck idled a little high, after that everything smoothed out.

Also, it just cost $35. Can't beat it.
