94 fuel filter loctaion

where is the fuel filter on a 94 4x4 v6, i looked inside the frame rail from the tank to where to fuel line goes up into the engine and didnt see it anywhwere???

IIRC 94-up the filter is in the tank and considered a non-serviceable item.
