Default mounting rear sway bar

I have 2, an after market bar, and a factory one from a 2003 or so dakota. The factory bar looks wimpy with plastic end links.
Both mount the center to the axle and the ends to the frame. That means having big ubolts attached to the axle tubes. It looks like crap.

After looking it over, the after market bar will be used, but mounted the opposite of makers intent.

I will mount the center parts to a new cross member attached to the frame rails, and the ends to brackets mounted to the spring pack just to the rear of the axle, pretty much like an F or M body, volare/aspen/diplomat, etc.

Anybody see any flaws in that?

Sounds like it may work. Post up pics of how it comes out.
They do sell direct fit aftermarket bars too.

the one I have that is after markekt is direct fit, IF you use 4 huge U-bolts to fasten mounting brackets to the axle, and that looks crappy.
The bed is off, so I will be able to get some good pics.
