Default grease fitting caps

After greasing the two Dakotas I started to list the parts needed based on observations. Internet search revealed there are replacement boots available for these critters.Fittings on the 94 are tight but aged enough that small holes have appeared. It sounds cheap but since ive got two to do has anyone done the boots as opposed to new joints?

First of all which joints are you talking about? Ball joints? Tie rod ends?

Yes you could just replace the nipples and boots. But if they are bad there is a possibility the joints are too. My boots crack due to the desert heat. I just use electrical tape to cover it all back together. I replaced all the boots once for the joints, within a few months they were all cracked/split again.

Oh yea the CV's go quick. I replaced one axle 2 years ago. And replaced the inner in the summer and the outer went bad last month. I learned my lesson, replace both inner and outer at the same time. My guess these will last a while. 5-10 years.
