Default Heater Problems

the weather in ohio is cold and started to snow and my heater barley works, when the switch is turned on it blows out cold are even when set to defrost the windsheild. another thing is when i have the switch off i get warm air coming out of the vents, i have no idea where the heat is coming from and am wondering if it is heat coming off of the engine, if this makes any sense please help me out

Sounds like you have a problem with your blend doors. It switches the door to open to the heater core or the AC system. The switch is cable operated. Check to see if that is your problem.

The switch is the one you switch from hot to cold.
