LED and HID is completely different. This is a HID light which is a bulb... those really bright blue lights you see cars / trucks driving with.
HID = high-intensity discharge

Well I wasn't referring to putting LED's in for headlights, I got a set of HID's for xmas lol old lady bought them for me. I was gonna put them in for my Brake Light's, Turn Signals, licence plate light, and a few other places because that's why the bacon pulled me over, wasn't for the headlights lol, he said the tail lights and turn signal's were to dim. I think the freakin cop needs to get his eyes checked, but then again alot of people behind me think I don't have them on when I do. When I smoked my light's I never touched the head lights, I'm just waiting on my new headlights to come in so I can install them and use the HID's to my full advantage. Can anyone say highbeams for people in the fast lane doing 40! I know I can.

Thanks Oxygen. Now I have another question. If you put LED bulbs in brake/stop/tail lights and they don't flash, do you think a new "electronic led flasher unit" would be worth a try?

Dobaroy, Well from all of the threads I've read, it's hit or miss with the LED bulbs because some will flash and work properly due to having a built in resistor, and some do not, but each bulb would need to have it's own resistor. I found all the bulbs I would need to do the job on ebay but just need to figure out if they have the resistors or not, because the resistors are $9.99 a pair. So that would roughly be $30 in resistors alone.

Its definatly not the cheapest way to go but they will last a long time and are bright. Depending on the LED voltage rating, you will have to get the correct resistor.

I did try to explain this.. *Sighs*

for those of you whoes lights dont blink, or blink too fast, or the dash or light says a bulb is out...

You want an LED bulb with HIL-Resistor.

heres the link to top notch LED bulbs... take note of the paragraph at the VERY BOTTPM OF THE PAGE...

http://www.visionxusa.com/Accent_Lig..._16/index.html

also on the site, you will find the brightest aftermarket light bars etc etc etc.

I guess you should have put that link up in your last post

Those LED's would work great as they have resistors as Lynx explained. Sounds like a good deal. Wished they had the old style socket to fix in my truck lights. I didnt see any of those on the site?

I found all the ones i needed for the 82 AMC Eagle.. cant see em not having the ones you'd need..

try another page?

and sorry, i never thought to put up the link.. just figured if some one wanted LED lights they woulda found em quick n simple.. pretty much any auto parts suppliers could find em.. and the first thing i do when looking for anythign is Google.. lol
and then youtube.. to see what they look like.. *Wink wink nudge*

EDIT:

okay.. the irony is, i dont know if the adds change with every page load, but I am looking at an add at the bottom of this very post, that is :

heres one for you. i had a 73 gremlin, yes a gremlin, back in the early 80's. it had 60's on the rear and 70 ta's on the front, mach 1 mustang scoop on the hood, candy apple red. i cut out smoked plexyglass to cover the front headlights and put 55 watt (same as headlights) under the bumper. the cops made me remove them even though the lower lights where adjusted properly. then they used it as an excuse to search us and the ashtray!
