Cool Fixed my shift indicator needle position

Just thought I'd share the experience.

Evidently, the catch/metal clip on the string slipped over the years. I couldn't slide it back up the string so I clamped a fishing line sinker to the appropriate position.

Cool easy fix. Hopefully you tied tied it to the weight before you crimped it just to make sure that one doesn't move.

Actually, I didn't and you're probably right, I should have but, between my sausage fingers and the limited working room (existing clip is almost butt-up against the sinker,) I'm trusting the sinker.

If it fails, I have about 29 more as back-ups.

if you wanted you could melt a lead weight and dip the end of the cable in it. well that's the hard way
