93 3.9 4X4 transfer case lube

I bought my 93 w/o an owners manual, I've never had a 4X4, so I don't know what fluid to put in transfer case. Are they all different?

ATF, Automatic transmission fluid. Type 3 or better.

Atf? I thought it had to be thicker than tranny fluid!! I'm glad I asked!!
