i just bought rear shocks for the dakota and looked at them and was confused. First off ive never done rear shocks. i was wondering how the top of the shock is held in, i can see the bottom and its just a bolt through, but the top haf i flat peice where the bolt wold go and in there where notches, i got the monroe gas matic's. does anyone know what im talkin about?

 

Just two simple bolts with nuts on top. If you need more room remove the spare tire.
