Question Weird Stall Issue (R to D)

This morning I went to back out of my driveway onto the road. When I put the truck from Reverse to Drive, the truck jumped forward and died. Just like a standard but the truck is automatic. Im not sure if I was rolling back when shifting but I doubt that was the case. This has happened before sometimes stalling other times not.

Any ideas?

Maybe the TCC Torque Converter Clutch. IAC if it was just stalling. But the lurching sounds like something is engaging hard.

Thanks for the info crazy. So that is in the tranny which means I have to drop the transmission if I need to fix it correct? Not fun... never been down that road.

Yes it is inside the transmission. But it may be a wiring/switch issue or something entirely. Unplug the transmission plug and see if it continues.

Thanks. The issue is very intermittent. Maybe occured 4 times in the last 2 years I have owned the truck. More recently than later.

I will keep an eye on it and if more problems arise, I will post back.
