my 90 dakota sending unit is toast i have one for a 93 anyone know if it will work or can be adapted to work? ........here is a pic of what i need to know. anyone out there been into there 89 or 90 if so does this look like the sending unit you had? i will be selling my 1990 i bought new and this is an issue and would like to fix before but do not want to tear down and find i have wrong part........

 

I took my sending unit out and what not (previous thread posted below) but i found a part number thats not listed online from Advance Auto Parts # CP7583 (for 1991, so prbably thre same #) $17.00

it comes with more than just the card, but i believe it would/should work for your 1990

 

that pic on your old post is the exact new one i have that narrows it down to at least a 91 would assume my 90 is the same. the other link you supplied looks nothing like it maybe after market?
