Default Painting brush guard

I decided to repaint my old rusty brush guard. I already stripped most of it down to the metal but I'm stuck on how to paint it. I did some searching and it seems like a lot of people are using spray on bedliner. My local auto store has the duplicolor bed liner for $9 a can. Has anyone had good results with this?
I'm not going to be plowing through tress, but i do go offroading fairly often. I don't think regular paint would hold up too good in the woods, so the bed liner would be a good idea. I want it to be flat black btw.
Thanks for the help. I will post pics when I'm done.

You can paint it the bed liner. Make sure you do good prep work. Sand it down good.

I would take it a step further and POR-15 it before you spray it with the bed liner. I used the duplicolor spray on bedliner on my offroading bumper over the POR-15 and I am really happy with it.

I also bought new bolts and I want to keep them from rusting. They are zinc plated grade 8 bolts, about 30 of them hold everything together. Should i just spray over them when I put it together? or is there a better way to do it?
