gas tank size?

gas tank size?

Due to the Dakota fuel sender crap and no time to fix it it occoured to me occoured to me the other day that a 22 gal tank has to be longer higher wider or some external dimension. Any one know the skinny on this???

The 15 Gallon is a long rectangle shaped. The 22 is long rectangle shaped with an extra section in front that resembles an L shape.

so I guess I got a box that sucks fuel under the truck and its a rectangle. WHy da hell did Dodge put such a puny tank on a v-8????
