I cannot seem to be able to find a guide on how to replace this part.

Does it require a complete removal of the tranny?

 

Just need to remove the pan and maybe the valve body. The automatic transmission manual in the Factory Service Manual will have instructions on it. You can download the Service Manual in the FAQ in this section just a few posts above this one.
