swapping motors

Default swapping motors

hey guys can i swap a 94 Dakota motor and put it in a 92 Dakota will the tranny bolt up , and if not well i have one for parts any help is needed thanks

check the faq2 sticky a few posts above this one. but what engine and tranny do they both have in them? are you just replacing a v6 or upgrading to a v8? we cant tell you much if we dont know what exactly you have. v6 replacement is an obvious yeah. v6 to v8 requires certain v8 parts like the flywheel i believe and the v8 tranny or an upgraded one to handle more power. but yeah..details man lol and then we can help ya.

huh ok, again i want to take a v8 out of a 94 and put it in a 92 that has a v8 in it can this be done since they are bolth v8s will the 94 motor bolt to the 92 tranny

okay yeah im pretty sure that will work just fine. Are they both automatic or manual?

they are bolth auto 4wheel drives i was told the trannys in both of them have different bolt patterns , so what u are telling me is that i can put a 94 v8 auto in a 92 v8 auto ?

should be able to. As far as i know there werent any transmission changes around then so yeah they should bolt right up.

I posted the answer in regards to your other post.

The 92-95 Dakota and Ram and Van V8 5.2 and 5.9 came with the 46rh.

hmm are u sure about that im being told other wise about the tranys like u can not put a tranny from a 92 to a 94 if they are bolth v8s and autos they tell me that if wont work also if i was to replace the trany in my 92 it has to be from a 92 to 93 only and that 94to 96 will not work and help with this thanks
