Default Question about Ax15 Trans

In general the trans is a little "rough" going into and out of gears usually. I mean, maybe that is the nature of the beast, seeing as how the only cars recently that I've driven with a manual are my friend's 96 mustang and a 97 eclipse. I mean, perhaps they are just designed differently and I'm not used to it.
I mean it always goes in gear, but usually it takes a little light resistance when it meets the gear. Also, usually when slowly rolling forwards (<1mph) if you try and go into reverse it will kinda grind, and even when stopped, if you JUST stopped, it sounds like the gear is turning and when you put it into reverse it is stopping it from turning then engaging. Is this normal? It's not normal on any other manual trans car I've driven that I know of. Is anything wrong? I'm just curious. Thanks guys.

Have you changed the gear oil lately? Have you checked the level? I'm not a manual guy so I can't offer more than that.

Or take it to a shop that does free test drives, see what they think. Try several of them.

Its just the nature of the transmission. The AX-15 is not a very smooth transmission, and as for reverse grinding, reverse is not syncronized in the AX-15, so it will grind some.

That is exactly what I thought. I was figuring reverse has no syncro. Thanks, just wanted to make sure it wasn't doing damage to itself.
