i have an 89 dakota 3.9 doing some routine maintenance plugs, wires, filters, etc looking to replace the ignition coil with an aftermarket one anyone have any suggestions on brand or voltages i should use
Your not going to pick up much with an aftermarket coil. The 3.9l is a pretty sedate engine. Other than a stock coil, Mallory units are (in my circles) associated with Chrysler, but as previously stated, MSD and Accel are good units. Higher voltages accelerate wear on the electrodes.
