Default 87 3.9 Intake Manifold.

Ok, i been looking at this for a few hours and i think i may have found something here, from a program i have all the intakes from 87 - 91 are the same, well it shows part placement and bolt patern to be the same, so what im really trying to find out if anyone has had to take a intake from a 88-89-90-91 and put it on a 87 and work. I do meen just the intake withought anything on it, switching the throttle body to a carb, ect. i have a hole in my intake and finding a 87 intake in my area is like trying to find a job. Any help would be great. thank you.

Default Dont Work

ok never mind i found a interchange list, and it says that a 87 intake is the only one for the 87. nothing else will work.

not entirely true, the throttle body intakes can take a carb. You have to make an adapter plate, but the offset bolt pattern of the 88 and up intakes makes that easy. I don't think any aftermarket adapter plates are being sold but aluminum is easy to work with. There are even some plastics that can take the heat.
You will want it thick, to closely match the factory spacer....
I see the 87 intakes sometimes, in the Phoenix AZ yards, maybe I should pull a few. Problem is, too many of them are corroded.
