OK heres the thing guys, My boyfriends 91 Dakota sport was sputtering every once in a while. Two days later, every time we hit the gas. Now it wont even stay running. Full tuneup done except for distributor cap. When sputtering started replaced distributor cap and now problem is worse. Any suggestions would be helpful and the firing order for a 91 dodge dakota sport, 6 cyl would be great!!!

i have a 93 dakota sport with a v6 and fireing order is 61234. Piston 1 is on the diver side closest to the front and it goes 135 on driver side and 246 on passenger side of motor. Also buy a haynes repar manual. they tell you just about every thing you need to know to do anything in the truck.

 

go to this site, http://autorepair.about.com/library/...-firing-91.htm , it depends if you have a 2wd or a 4wd and what your VIN is. this site also lists firing orders for all other models. good luck with that sputtering

 

How many miles 1st and i would say change the whole distributor b/c it sounds like ur contact points in ur distributor. Mine just done that like 2 weeks ago and i took the distibutor out and the frickin contact points like fell out so i replaced it and it runs like a champ now.

 

lol me and my dad spent 2 weeks trying to find out why everytime we hit the gas on the RX7 1st gen it died


To find out the filter in the gas tank leading to the hose was clogged with rust..

This is just my story. but the stupidist thing can make your car not run.

then the rpm gauge wouldnt work so we replaced igniter -thats another story though....
