Default 91' Dakota with no fuel getting to injectors

I've a 91' Dakota 4x4 LE w/ the 318 v8 (tbi) throttle body/dual injectors. Truck just out right DIED! have discovered there is NO fuel going into throttle body. Fuel filter has good flow. I need to know at what point one should hear the fuel pump working? Does it make the "whirring" or running sound BEFORE truck is actually running? (key in last position before it cranks?) I've replaced the SBEC/hall effect pick up/cap/rotor ect...// (in 1996'ish) when it was having intermittant starting probs. during moist or rainy days...and then just died while driving.

This time it just DIED when driving slowly with no intermittant start probs. It will crank ok but no start/run.
I Think I jumped the gun and assumed it was another S.B.E.C. so far it has a new:
hall effect pick up
S.B.E.C.
cap/ rotor plugs
ignition coil
GOOD spark now.

Discovered that the FUEL PUMP is giving the Thrttl Body/Injectors NO FUEL!!! Filter good on flow. Cleaned the injectors up.
WHAT is the four wire set up going into pump? (which is +12vdc / -12vdc ect????)

Can I connect + & - 12Vdc to the correct wires and double check if pump will work if I isolate the 4 wire (elect.imput) from system completely? And not turning anything on in the truck..

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated! I miss DRIVING MY Dakota!!!

Time to replace the fuel pump. You either drop the tank, or if you have a few friends, lift off the bed. Either will grant you access to the perpetrator. Maybe before you do that though, go to the fuse block under the dash and check the fuses. But all in all, it sounds like a fuel pump.
