Hello all,
I had something odd happen the other day. I noticed that I had a little more juice on acceleration and that it seemed like there was better flow or better breathing, for lack of a better description.

Two things about this, I got a CEL that said something about my absolute pressure, OK. I checked some stuff under the hood, I have a new IMAP that I put in a few months ago, so I did not feel it was that. I cleared the CEL with my thingy, and the error has not come back. anyway, once in a while I will get a hesitation when I accelerate after a decelerating coast, like coming off the freeway and then accelerating again.

Here is the weird part. My gas mileage jumped from 14... to almost 17 mpg!!! What the ??? This is great. But, the engine feels like it starting to go back to how it was. I think something is dirty and causing plugging somewhere.

I cleaned my throttle body once before, there is not a whole lot to cleaning that, should I pull it out and clean it again? what should I look for? Are there hidden ports that I should look for and be sure to clean? Should I be looking at cleaning the intake manifold? How many feathers does an English Swallow have? So many questions so little time.

I feel I am getting real close to having this baby run well, and with the price of gas here in SoCal, I can use every mile I can get.

Thank you all in advance.

For the hesitation problem there are tons of possibilities. Start by checking for a vacuum leak.

For the cleaning try throttle body cleaner while the engine is running to clean the inside of the intake ect. Lots of people have good results with a product called Sea Foam. Most autoparts store carry it. Just pore it down the intake and let it sit then start it up after a bit.

i used mpar combustion chamber cleaner (free for me) and it works miracles. spray it in with it running and just before the can runs out flood it with it then let it sit for two hours. do this hot then when the two hours is up run it like you stole it and the fuzz is chasin you in need for speed. stuff really works.
i've had good luck with seafoam as well.
bg makes a great intake cleaner aswell
those are the 3 i reccomend

im guessing 312 f3@th3r$

I used the Sea Foam, and what a difference it made. I finally got some power on the Freeway. and just around town. she has 208k on her so I dont expect too much, but what a difference.

thanks for your help.
